Groveland Council on Aging Announces April Watercolor Classes

GROVELAND 一 The Groveland Council on Aging is pleased to announce that they will be hosting watercolor classes throughout the month of April. 

Classes will be held every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. beginning April 5. Classes are held at the Groveland Public Safety Meeting Room, located at the fire station,181 Main St. 

Sessions will be taught by Peggy Poppe. They are available for watercolor painters of all levels including beginner and experienced artists. Classes will include exploring creativity through watercolors and practicing different techniques through depth and shadows. 

The four-week session will be $40 and payment should be made out to Margaret Poppe.

There is a minimum of six students per class with a maximum of 10.

Town of Groveland Shares Information on New Field Use and Special Event/Property Use Permit Applications

GROVELAND—Town Administrator Rebecca Oldham announces that the Town of Groveland now offers residents the ability to fill out Field Use and Special Event/Property Use permit applications directly on the town site.  

Residents can now fill out field use applications here and special event/property use permit applications online here

Residents should submit an application at least 14 days prior to the event to ensure placement on the agenda for the next Board of Selectmen meeting. After submitting the form residents are expected to hear back about applications after the Board of Selectmen vote during their regularly scheduled by-weekly meetings.

The online permitting system is for residents to request recreational fields across town for special events and field use.

Town of Groveland Announces Nomination Papers Now Available for 2023 Town Election

GROVELAND – Town Clerk Elizabeth Cunniff would like to announce that nomination papers are available to those interested in running in the 2023 Town Election.

Nomination papers are available for pick-up at the Town Clerk’s office, 183 Main St., through Thursday, March 9, at 5 p.m.

The last day to file nomination papers is Monday, March 13, at 5 p.m.

Residents who wish to be considered must obtain a minimum of 34 signatures from registered voters, which are then certified by the Town Clerk’s Office. Candidates are encouraged to obtain more than the minimum number of signatures.

The names of all certified candidates will appear on the town ballot. The election will be held May 1, with all voting at Town Hall.

The voter registration deadline is April 14, 5 p.m.

  • Board of Library Trustee
  • Board of Selectmen
  • Cemetery Commission
  • Electric Light Commission
  • Housing Authority
  • Moderator
  • Planning Board
