*PHOTO* Town of Groveland Hosts Successful PumpkinFest, Thanks Community

GROVELAND – Town Administrator Rebecca Oldham is pleased to share that the Town of Groveland’s PumpkinFest was a huge success and would like to thank community members for their support.  

PumpkinFest was held on Oct. 19. Residents and community members wore their Halloween costumes, ate candy and participated in the family fun event for all ages.   

The event included a variety of activities including pony rides, tractor rides, pumpkin decorating, and a pumpkin carving contest that collected over 30 submissions.  

Those who were a key part of planning and organizing the event included William and Theresa Dunn of Dunn Landscaping, Sarah Sheehan McGrath, and Steve Collins of Collins Family Tree who assisted in planning the event.  

The Town of Groveland would like to thank individuals and business who provided raffle prizes including, Family Affair, Heart of Stone, Georgetown Massage, Sparkle Gear, Birch & Mane Hair Studio, and Sarah Sheehan McGrath.

Groveland Housing Authority Currently Accepting Comments for Proposed Changes to Five Year Plans

GROVELAND — The Town of Groveland would like to announce that the Groveland Housing Authority is accepting comments on proposed changes to the Five-Year Plan 2020-2025 and the Five-Year Capital Funding Program, 2023-2028.  

The proposed changes can be found here.  

The Groveland Housing Authority will accept written comments on the proposed changes for a duration of 45 days. A public meeting will be held to discuss and review the proposed changes on Friday, Dec. 15 at the River Pines Community Room, 10 River Pines Drive at 10 a.m.  

Those who require reasonable accommodation for the meeting should call the Housing Authority office at 978-374-6761 by Wednesday, Dec. 13.  

Copies of the proposed changes are available for public review at the Groveland Housing Authority, 10 River Pines Drive, and the Haverhill Housing Authority administrative offices, 25C Washington Square, during normal business hours, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Groveland Council on Aging Announces October Programs and Events

GROVELAND – Director Alyssa Lee and Assistant Director Nisha Burke are pleased to share Groveland Council on Aging’s October programs and events.  

The Groveland Council on Aging offers senior residents a variety of programs and events each month. October’s activities include:  

Thursday, Oct. 19: Cider and Donuts Social  

The Groveland COA would like to invite residents to a fall fun event that will feature cider, donuts, and conversations.  

The event will be held at Town Hall Meeting room, 183 Main St. starting at 10:30 a.m.  

Monday, Oct. 23: Trip to Mann’s Orchard

The Groveland COA is offering van trips to Mann’s Orchard in Methuen for $15 per person. The day will include fall activities at the orchard followed by lunch at China Blossom. Lunch is not covered in the price of travel and individuals will be responsible for covering their own lunch. 

To reserve a spot, call the Groveland COA at (978) 372-1101. The COA Van will depart from Town Hall at 10 a.m. 

Tuesday, Oct. 24: Movie ‘Jurassic Park Dominion’

Tuesday movie night will feature ‘Jurassic Park Dominion’ starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and Laura Dern. The movie will be shown at 11 a.m. in the Center Hall Meeting Room at Town Hall. 

Thursday, Oct. 26: Plan it Your Way 

Attorney Elaine Dalton will be hosting a workshop for elders to discuss estate planning. 

The workshop will be held in the Town Hall Back Meeting Room at 10 a.m. This is a free event.  

Monday, Oct. 30: Legal Monday 

This event will feature a 15-minute consult with Attorney Elaine Dalton.  

Available appointments include 10 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. 

Those interested in attending should call the COA at 978-372-101 to reserve their spot.  

Tuesday, Oct. 31: Halloween Party featuring Rick Anthony as Johnny Cash 

The Groveland COA is hosting a Halloween Party which will feature a performance from Rick Anthony as Johnny Cash.  

The event begins at 12 p.m. in the Town Hall Center Meeting room and will feature a catered lunch.  

The event is $5 per person and costumes are encouraged. Residents who would like to attend should secure their spot by calling the COA at 978-372-101.  

The Groveland COA would also like to share an important November event with residents.  

Thursday, Nov. 2: An Introduction to Medicare 

The informational lunch and learn session will be presented by a certified SHINE Counselor who will provide free, unbiased, Medicare Health insurance information and guide those 65 or older through Medicare options.  

The session will be held at the Groveland COA office, 183 Main St., from 12-1 p.m. 

Additionally, the Groveland COA would like to remind residents of the variety of programs offered to seniors throughout the year: 

  • 3B Fitness (Brains, Bones, Balance) classes are offered every Tuesday at 9 a.m. hosted by Bryan C. under the tent outside the Public Safety Building, 181 Main St. Each class is $5.  
  • Yoga is $5 per class and is held in the Town Hall Center Meeting Room every Friday starting at 10:45 a.m. 
  • Groveland COA Food Pantry offers fresh and frozen food to seniors. The food pantry is open Wednesdays, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.  
  • Mobile Market, free grocery delivery service.  
  • Meals on Wheels, call the COA 978-372-1101, to arrange assistance. 


Residents can also sign-up for a new Council on Aging Key Tag that will allow residents to sign-up for programs online or in-person at the touch screen kiosk at the COA office.

*REMINDER* Town of Groveland to Host PumpkinFest and Pumpkin Carving Contest

GROVELAND— Town Administrator Rebecca Oldham would like to remind residents that PumpkinFest is this week.  

The Town of Groveland PumpkinFest will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.  

The event will feature live music, a raffle, pumpkin and scarecrow decorating, a movie screening and more. Food and beverages will be available.  

Residents who wish to participate in the pumpkin carving contest should sign-up here. Pumpkins can be dropped off at Town Hall for display starting Oct. 16. Prizes will be awarded for the scariest, most original, and silliest pumpkin.

In the event of unexpected weather, the rain date for PumpkinFest will be Friday, Oct. 20.
