COVID-19 Statement #13
Since my last statement, Groveland has one (1) new positive case of COVID-19 bringing the total in Groveland to twenty-eight (28) cases, with seven (7) homes currently under quarantine.
We are hopeful that the numbers both local and state-wide will continue to diminish, and we look forward to slowly resuming normal activities. We thank all residents for their patience as we work through the re-opening plans and how they apply to Groveland.
Effective immediately, parks are available for passive recreation (walking, jogging, biking). Barriers will not be removed and parking lots will not be opened. Social distancing and masks are still required, when social distancing cannot be met.
We are tentatively planning to reopen all recreational facilities, including the boat ramp, with the start of Phase 2, on or about June 8th. We will keep residents posted as this gets closer.
Please be advised, we have rescheduled Town Meeting to Monday, June 22nd at 7pm. By this time, we should be well within Phase 2, and hopefully voters will be more comfortable participating in this very important annual event.
The Town election will take place on Monday, June 15th. I would like to remind voters the application to vote by mail, in the upcoming local election, is available by clicking here. For the safety of all residents, we strongly encourage voters to take advantage of this opportunity. For those who wish to vote in person, the polls will be open, at Town Hall, on June 15th from 12pm to 8pm. Safety requirements and protocols on in-person voting, will be forthcoming.
As we make our way through Phase One, please stay vigilant with your social and physical distancing, continue to wear a mask when you are unable to stay 6 feet away, and please be mindful of others.
Stay safe and well. Thank you.
