COVID-19 Statement #11
Since my last statement, Groveland has seven (7) new positive cases of COVID-19 bringing the total in Groveland to twenty-one (21) cases. Of those twenty-one (21) cases, ten (10) are currently active.
Please be advised, if you have tested positive or if you have been in close contact with someone who tested positive, you are required to quarantine for 14-days or until you no longer have symptoms. Quarantine means you should be staying in your home or on your property. You should not be going for walks, going to the store, hanging out with neighbors, or going to work. Please stay home to save lives.
Unfortunately, under these circumstances, we made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Summer Recreation Program. Given the pandemic, we feel there is just no way to proceed with the camp this year and also keep staff, counselors, and campers safe. We look forward to having the program back in 2021. More information and refunds will be forthcoming to those who have already signed up.
The Highway Yard Waste site will be open again on Saturday, May 16th from 8am to 2pm. This is available only to Groveland residents and you will be required to show your vehicle’s registration upon entry.
Once again, we would like to remind voters the application to vote by mail, in the upcoming local election, is available here. For the safety of all residents, we strongly encourage voters to take advantage of this opportunity. Applications may be emailed to the Town Clerk at ecunniff@grovelandma.com, dropped off at Town Hall, or mailed to Town Clerk, 183 Main Street, Groveland, MA 01834. This week, I would like to thank all the municipal employees, who have had to adapt to working from home, or working in a limited environment, conducting remote meetings, and doing their best to continue to safely serve our residents.
