COVID-19 #6

I would like to report that Groveland only has one (1) new positive case of COVID-19 bringing the total in Groveland to eight (8) cases.

The Select Board and Health wish to thank all residents for following the Stay-at-Home orders and social & physical distancing. Even though our numbers are low, we ask everyone to please stay vigilant in their efforts to only go out for essential business.  We are nearing the reported surge and staying home is more critical than ever.

Please be advised the Select Board have voted to reschedule the Annual Town Meeting to Monday, June 8, 2020 and the Annual Town Election to Monday, June 15, 2020. More information will be forthcoming on these. But, please know, all statutory deadlines remain, therefore, the town meeting warrant is closed and the election ballot is closed.

The Water and Sewer Department have asked that folks stop flushing wipes down the toilet as they are clogging the sewer system.

We have been asked to remind residents that Whitestone Village is private property and using their facility for recreational purposes is not allowed.

The Town would like to thank Paul Burnim and Applied Graphics who made face shields for the Police and Fire Departments. In addition, we would like to thank Jeff Perillo and Andy Cox, both of whom donated masks to the Fire Department.

We would like to offer our profound gratitude to all the nurses and doctors working around the clock to battle this virus. To the police, fire, and EMTs, we say a huge thank you for being the first responders of this pandemic. To grocery store workers, we are beyond grateful for your dedication and efforts to continue to provide for our residents.

We ask that all residents continue to observe the physical and social distancing requirements and the stay-at-home order and together we will get through this.

Stay safe and well. Thank you.
