Town of Groveland Invites Residents to Grand Opening of New Community Trail

GROVELAND – Town Administrator Rebecca Oldham would like to invite residents to the grand opening of the new community trail.

Thursday, May 25, at 10 a.m.

Community Trail Main Street entrance, 446 Main St.

WHAT 

The Town of Groveland Community Trail will officially be open to the public on May 25, and residents are encouraged to celebrate the opening of the trail and the hard work of those who worked on the project. Refreshments will be available. 

The community trail is a 3.25 mile path that was created to help promote safe, healthy and scenic outdoor experiences for all ages and abilities. The trail connects with multiple community areas including, the Bagnall Elementary School, the Center Street Greenway, Shanahan Field and multiple residential neighborhoods. 

“I want to thank everyone who was involved in this project,” said Town Administrator Oldham. “Our new community trail will serve our residents and community members for years to come. I encourage area residents to visit the new trail to walk, bike or to just enjoy the outdoors.” 

The new community trail was made possible through state funding in the amount of
$2,465,385. The Town of Groveland also used Community Preservation Committee funding to held with the initial design.
