Town of Groveland Announces Open Board and Committee Positions
GROVELAND – Town Administrator Rebecca Oldham would like to share that the Town of Groveland are currently seeking residents to fill multiple open positions.
Vacancies include:
Finance Board
The Finance Board is seeking to fill one member and two alternate member positions.
The Finance Board is responsible for making recommendations on all financial matters including budgets and town meetings. The role of an alternate member is to fill in if needed when a full board member is not available. A background in finance is preferred.
Members and alternates can hold office for up to two years before being reappointed. The board meets the second Wednesday of every month.
Historical Commission
The Historical Commission is looking to fill one open position. The mission of the Groveland Historical Commission is to protect, preserve, and promote Groveland’s historic structures, neighborhoods, and landscapes.
Members can hold office for up to three years before being reappointed. The commission meets as needed.
Recreation Committee
The Recreation Committee is looking to fill three open positions. The committee is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the construction, maintenance, and upkeep of all Groveland playgrounds, facilities, athletics fields, trails, open space, and park improvements.
Members can hold office for up to one year before being reappointed. The committee meets the last Wednesday of every month.
Board of Assessors
The Board of Assessors is looking to fill two open positions. The Board of Assessors is responsible for the administration of a wide range of state laws pertaining to taxation. The board consists of three members and each member can hold office for up to one year, before being reappointed. The board meets as needed.
All positions are volunteer, and require appointment by the Select Board.
