Shanahan Field Parking
Shanahan Field Parking
This project proposes to create designated parking and improve the vehicular circulation at Shanahan Field to provide a safer environment for recreational field users. It also includes drainage, landscaping, and lighting.
The project was before Town Meeting in 2023 but was tabled
because there was some confusion as to a civil dispute between neighbors. The property line dispute is between the neighbors and not the Town and the project does not propose to interfere with that dispute. The current plan takes into account the Knox House and its use by the Historical Society. It also allows us to expand further towards Rivers Edge in the future, if needed.
Funding
The total cost of this project is estimated to cost $886,800 and was funded at the 2024 Annual Town Meeting. A plan and cost estimate can be found in the application package that is linked in the document section of this page.
