Groveland Council on Aging to Host Renounced Singer Ruth Harcovitz in Celebration of Older Americans Month

GROVELAND–The Groveland Council on Aging, in collaboration with the Groveland Cultural Council, are pleased to announce that in celebration of Older Americans Month, singing star Ruth Harcovitz will be performing for residents. 

The celebration will include a performance from Harcovitz’s show, “The Sound of Music in Songs and Stories,” which will be held Tuesday, May 23 at 12:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Center Meeting Room, 183 Main St., following a luncheon at 11 a.m. The show celebrates the most popular music from Rodgers’ and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music. 

Older Americans Month, which is observed every May, is celebrated to recognize seniors for their contributions to the community.

Harcovitz is a renowned singer who has performed as a soloist in orchestras including the Boston Symphony orchestras, in opera companies, and at resorts across the country. She was also crowned as Ms. Massachusetts in the Senior America Pageant in 2015.  

This program was made possible by a grant from the Groveland Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.  

The event is free. Residents who would like to attend the luncheon must make a reservation by Thursday, May 18. Tickets for lunch are $8 per person. To reserve lunch tickets please contact the Groveland COA at 978-372-1101.
