The Department is responsible for providing advice and assistance in the negotiations for and compliance with the cable television license agreement for cable television service under the framework set forth by federal and state law. The Department reviews the cable operator’s performance under the current license and determine the needs and interests of the community.
The Department goals include:
- Inform and educate the residents of Groveland by recording and broadcast local government meetings
- Foster the production of local special interest events
- Extend opportunities to the community by showcasing a variety of high-quality educational programming
- Make available video production technology and training to the public
- Develop and enforce cable licenses in the best interest of the community
- Provide cable broadcast access to every Groveland resident
